Some Fun Office Games and Activities That Make Work Awesome

If you ask a lot of successful companies to define your culture, you will often hear something like “we work hard and we play hard”.
Creating a pleasant workplace is no longer something reserved only for large technology companies in Silicon Valley. Companies around the world are making their offices a place where people do many things and also have fun.
There are some really cool ideas and fun games in the office on Fridays to play here that you can steal and use to have fun at work. Enjoy!

Snack Nation

Having worked here for almost 3 years, I can say with confidence that Snack Nation is a really fun place to work. So I wanted to share with you the things we do to spread some laughter and joy in the office:

  • Bi-weekly yoga in the office.
  • Weekly Bootcamps
  • External company to places like Big Bear, Venice Beach, Malibu
  • Friday Happy Hours
  • Personal development session of the entire team every Monday (known as “Session of Sensei”)
  • Scooter competes in the parking lot.

Voom

Having fun at work can also contribute to the well-being of employees. This is how Gabrielle Shultis says that the Voom wellness company incorporates fun into her company and remains true to her mission and values:

We are a very small company, so we have the flexibility to take our activities away from the office. So once every two weeks (usually on a Wednesday, for the “Wellness Wednesday”) we go to a local gym and take a class together.

Classes vary, depending on what they offer that week and at the time we can leave the office. Sometimes it’s a “30 minutes to adapt” class, but we’ve also dabbled with a TRX band class, “Cardio and Core,” and we hope to try a new “Strength and Stretch” class!

We are a wellness program, so it is important for us to practice what we preach. We discovered that participating in only 30 minutes of activity (which is the duration of most classes) allows us not only to have fun together outside the workplace, but we have had some very creative brainstorming sessions in the middle of planning . ! We return to the office with energy, and on Wednesday evenings after a class they usually end up being the most productive time of the week.

You have earned it

Darby Dupre at YouEarnedIt explained that Friday is always a fun day to be in your office:

A favorite activity of the You Earned It office is to meet every Friday for team lunches, which take place on the roof of our building with an incredible view of the city center. It is an opportunity for the YEI to connect and get to know each other in a meaningful way. Some Fridays we play several activities and fast and fun office games to play in the office; One of the favorites is when we have to choose what animal spirit would be a member of the team and explain why. On other Fridays, we go around the table and share the personal and company highs during the week. This allows everyone to keep abreast of what is happening with the business and celebrate the success of others (they often become a great love party!).

Occasionally, different team members direct informative presentations to teach us something new or reinforce our culture. Some of the topics have been “How to be an ambassador for the YEI brand” or “How to live the fundamental values of our company”.

The best part of the Friday lunches is the initiation activity in which all the new members of the team must participate. We would share it, but it’s a company secret!

In addition to Friday lunches, we use our employee recognition and reward software to connect and collaborate with our colleagues at work.

Conclusion

Some of the favorite activities here at Bright Fire are weekly yoga sessions and a “Chat n ‘Chew” on Friday, where we discuss new ideas or new technologies during a lunch. Our intimate and friendly feeling lends itself to an open-minded atmosphere so that everyone can contribute ideas and new concepts.
